Framingham, MA - Framingham State College junior forwards Josue
Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) and Roderick Jackson (Cambridge, MA) were
selected to the 2008-09 Massachusetts State College Athletic
Conference (MASCAC) men's basketball all-conference team.
Almodovar was first team selection for the second year in a row,
while Jackson was a second team selection. The Rams finished
the season 14-11 and earned the fourth seed in the MASCAC men's
basketball tournament.
Almodovar, who in January became the 18th Framingham
State men's basketball player to surpass 1,000 career points,
averaged close to a double double for the Rams (20.5 points and 9.9
rebounds per game) and ranked in the top five in the conference in
scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (.536).
Almodovar, who was named to the MASCAC Weekly Honor Roll four times
and was selected player of the week once, currently has 1,155
points in his career at Framingham State and has moved into
10th on the All-Time scoring list.
Jackson, who is in his first season with the Rams, was second on
the team in scoring and rebounding as he averaged 14.5 points and
5.8 rebounds per game. Jackson, who was named to the MASCAC
Weekly Honor Roll three times this season, finished the regular
season second in the conference in blocked shots (33) and in the
top ten for scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.
