Framingham, MA - Behind a game-high 21 points from junior
forward Roderick Jackson (Cambridge, MA), the Framingham State
College men's basketball team cruised to a 76-61 Massachusetts
State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) win over the visiting
MCLA Trailblazers this afternoon at Framingham's Athletic
Center. With the win the Rams improve to 6-5 in the MASCAC
and 14-10 overall, while the Trailblazers fall to 1-22 on the
season and 0-10 in the MASCAC.
Jackson led a trio of Rams in double figures as he connected on
10 of 21 from the floor (47.6%) and grabbed five rebounds. Junior
forward Josue Almodovar (Holyoke, MA) picked up his 11th
double double of the season as he grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds
to go along with 19 points on 9 of 14 shooting from the
field. Fellow junior Darius Yarrell chipped in 12 points
including 2 of 4 from behind the arc to go along with six assists
and four steals.
The Trailblazers were led by sophomore center Jon Greenberg
(Antwerp, Belgium) who picked up a double double with a team-high
17 points and 12 boards. Junior Mike Perreault (Whitinsville, MA)
and freshmen Chris Harris (Boston, MA) and Gessie Etienne
(Springfield, MA) chipped in eight points apiece for the
Trailblazers.
The Rams return to action on Tuesday night as they host
Westfield State at 7:30 p.m., while the Trailblazers travel to
Fitchburg State on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
