Thomas Kelley

Tom Kelley is in his fourteenth year as Director of Athletics at
Framingham State College and has been involved with the athletics
department for the past 30 years. Since taking over as
Athletic Director in 1994, Tom has changed the look of the coaching
staff in every program and was instrumental in the addition of
women's lacrosse as a varsity sport.
A 1976 graduate of Framingham State College, Kelley was a
four-year starter at defensive tackle for the Rams. He
returned to Framingham State College in 1978 as an assistant
football coach and assumed the head coaching job in 1982. Kelley
served as head coach from 1982-1985 and returned to coaching again
in 2001 as an assistant coach.
Kelley returned to coaching again after the 2006 football season
when he once again took over as head coach of the Rams football
program and led them to a 2-7 record in his first season back on
the sideline. In 2008 Kelley guided the Rams to a 5-5 mark, which
was the Rams best finish since the 1986 season. Kelley also
saw the Rams first single season 1,000 yard rusher in the 36 years
of Framingham State football.
Kelley holds a master's degree in psychology counseling from
Boston State College and lives in Milford with his wife Jackie.
Aynsley Rosenbaum
Title: Offensive Coordinator
Aynsley Rosenbaum begins his second season as the Rams
offensive coordinator. Last season the Rams offense came
within five points of breaking the Rams single season points
record, and had four players selected to the NEFC All-Bogan
Division team. Also, David Leach became the first Framingham
State running back to break the 1,000 yard milestone in a single
season.
Before coaching the Rams, Rosenbaum spent seven seasons with the
Arlington Catholic High School football program where they won
three Catholic Central Titles and made two trips to the
post-season.
Rosenbaum was a running back and kick returnman for the Rams
from 1995-97. He led the Rams in rushing in 1995 and
1996. He currently holds the FSC record for longest kick off
return with an 88 yard return against Mass. Maritime during the
1996 season. Rosenbaum, who graduated with a degree in
sociology from Framingham State, averaged 19.3 yards per return
during his career. He is currently a science teacher at
Arlington Middle School in Lawrence and resides in Andover with his
wife Melissa and their two dogs.
Andrew MacKay
Title: Defensive Coordinator
Andrew MacKay is entering his second season with the Framingham
State College football program and will be the defensive
coordinator this year. MacKay, who also coordinates the
Rams recruiting efforts, worked with the linebackers last
season. In 2007, MacKay coached the running backs at Norwich
University. Prior to that, he coached the quarterbacks at
Assumption College and was the linebackers coach at Massachusetts
Maritime. MacKay is a 2006 graduate of Nichols College where
he began his career as a linebacker and then moved to the offensive
line. MacKay was selected the Bison's MVP in his senior
season. He is a graduate of Ashland High School where he was
an All-League performer. He currently resides in Ashland and
is working on a masters in Public Administration from Framingham
State.
Troy Askew
Title: Defensive Assistant
Troy Askew is in his third season with the Rams and his second
as the special teams coordinator. In his first season, he
worked primarily with the quarterbacks and running backs.
Askew has previously coached the offensive line, defensive line and
special teams at Madison Park Vocational Technical High School,
which is part of the Boston Public School System. Coach Askew
is currently a Boston School Police Officer and is pursuing his
degree in Criminal Justice from UMass Boston and is anticipating
completing the program in the spring of 2008. Coach Askew and
his wife Chandra have two children, Bryana and Troy, Jr.
Dan Bacon enters his first year with the Framingham State
College Rams and will be the Offensive Line Coach. Prior to
joining the staff at FSC, Coach Bacon spent three years as an
assistant at Brookline High School and last year as the Offensive
and Defensive Line Coach at Concord-Carlisle High School. He
has taught at numerous camps and clinics throughout the area,
including four years as the Offensive and Defensive Line Clinician
for the USA Football Program held yearly at Gillette Stadium.
Bacon was a lineman at Masconomet Regional High School from
1989-1993. He currently resides in Concord as the caretaker
of the Ralph Waldo Emerson House with his wife and dog, and is
pursuing his degree in Education from UMass Boston.
Eian Bain is in his first season with the Rams coaching staff
and will be working with the wide receivers. Bain graduated
from Framingham State in 2008 with a degree in history and
secondary education. Bain was the Rams starting quarterback during
his four years and twice received the Calder Award which is
presented annually to the most valuable player of the Homecoming
Day game. For the past two years, he has run a football camp
in his hometown of Stafford Springs, Conn. The proceeds from
his camp are donated to the Dan Orlovsky Foundation. Bain
currently teaches history and social studies in Foxborough.
Bob Donovan is in his third season with the Rams and his second
as the running backs coach. In his
first season he worked with the Rams wide
receivers. Coach Donovan was a four year football player for
the Rams from 1976-79. He was co-captain and team MVP as a
senior when he was also selected to the All-League Team. He
was the first Ram to break the 2,000 yard mark. Donovan was
inducted into the Framingham State College Athletic Hall of Fame in
the fall of 2008 during Homecoming weekend. Donovan has
coached previously with Franklin youth sports as well as football
at Natick High School and Weston High School. Coach Donovan
graduated from Framingham State with a B.A. in psychology and
currently works as a paramedic for the Franklin Fire Department.
Gavin Fitts
Title: Linebackers/Special Teams
Gavin Fitts is entering his first season with the Framingham
State College football program and will serve as special teams
coordinator and linebackers coach. Fitts spent the previous
three seasons as the head varsity football coach at the Dexter
School in Brookline, where he continues to teach mathematics and
coach hockey and baseball. A 2002 graduate of Hamilton
College, he played both football and baseball for the
Continentals. Fitts holds a master's degree in coaching and
physical education from Boston University. He currently
resides in Charlestown with his wife, Whitney, and their two dogs.
Patrick Kelley is entering his third season with the Framingham
State Rams and will be working with the defensive line this
year. Prior to joining the Ram's coaching staff, Kelley
attended UMass Amherst from 1999-2003 and graduated with a B.S. in
Exercise Science. From 2003-2007, Coach Kelley played
semi-professional football for the Woonsocket Sentinels of the
NEFL. Kelley grew up in Milford, MA and currently resides
there. He is a 2008 graduate of the Massachusetts College of
Pharmacy and currently works as an R.N. at Milford Hospital.
After an outstanding four year career, Justin Paull, a 2008
graduate of Framingham State College, begins his second season as
the Rams defensive backs coach. Paull was a starter in the
Rams secondary from the day he arrived on campus and was among the
team leaders in tackles each of his four season. Paull capped
off his career in 2007 being selected to the NEFC All-Bogan
Division First Team Defense. Paull graduated from FSC with a
B.A. in sociology with a concentration in deviance and social
control. He currently works for Pierce Aluminum as a quality
control assistant
Bruce Rich
Title: Student Assistant - Quarterbacks
Bruce Rich is in his first season as part of the Rams coaching
staff as a student assistant working with the quarterbacks.
In 2008 Rich was the Rams starting quarterback and led the Rams to
their first .500 record since 1986. He was twice selected
both the NEFC Offensive Player of the Week and ECAC Offensive
Player of the Week. Rich, who was an NEFC Second Team
All-Division selection in 2008, became just the third Ram to
receive the prestigious Boston Globe Gold Helmet Award for his
performance against MIT in the second week of the season.
Rich was raised in Chelmsford and graduated from Chelmsford High
where he was an All-League wrestler and football player. Rich
transferred to FSC from Merrimack and is working towards a
degree in history.
James Kugel
Title: Student Assistant - Defensive Line
After starting at defensive end for the Rams for the past three
years, James Kugel begins his first season as a student assistant
working with the defensive line. Kugel finished his career
with 99 tackles including 66 solo tackles. He also was among
the team leaders in tackles for a loss and sacks each year.
Kugel, who is a graduate of Tolman High School, is scheduled to
graduate in 2010 with a degree in health and consumer sciences with
a minor in psychology.
